Raising Standards and expectations

Blue Skies Consortium’s breadth of skills, expertise and strong partnership culture make it well-placed to support local authority development and regulatory partners.

Members share good practice and collaborate in a supportive setting.  This helps to ‘raise the bar’ for local standards and achieves schemes that often exceed partners’ expectations.

Blue Skies is also closely connected to local communities.  The combination of technical expertise, gravitas and strong networks helps partners to meet housing needs and resolve wider community challenges.  Examples include attracting major investment, shaping area strategies and tackling community problems such as estate decline and anti-social behaviour.

General needs, retirement and supported housing

The consortium’s landlord and development experience spans single person apartments, family homes, extra-care and leasehold retirement schemes, foyers and floating support services.

Blue Skies developments also offer tenure flexibility, covering everything from affordable rent and shared ownership schemes through to New Build Homebuy, sub-market renting and shared equity options.

Rural and urban schemes

Member expertise ranges from delivering small rural exceptions schemes and conservation area development, through to community-based regeneration and large-scale projects in major urban extensions.

From identifying localised housing needs, through to navigating complex planning applications and negotiating land deals – Blue Skies has all the skills you need.

Sustainable developments

These days, there’s increasing interest in securing sustainable, low-impact developments.  Blue Skies has developed some highly-innovative schemes, including projects that meet Level Five of the Code for Sustainable Homes and have won national sustainability awards.

Scheme innovations include solar panel renewable technology, rainwater harvesting, heat exchange pumps – and even providing allotments to support sustainable living.

The consortium has also signed-up to the national Halve Waste to Landfill campaign, which is reducing construction waste by recycling materials such as wood, bricks and packaging.
